Hey when I try and play Need for speed most wanted on my laptop, it says "ialmrnt5 display driver is not working correctly" and restarts...or sometimes it just restarts...does anyone know what this means? Is it because my graphics card isn't good enough or anything? Is there a patch that I can get to make the game think that I have a good graphics card?

Sounds like you need update your GPU driver.

Do you know what graphics processor your laptop has?

Ahhh no, how can I find out? Do I go to hardware devices?

Go to Start > Run then type in "dxdiag" (without the quotation marks) and run it.

Go to the Display tab and it'll tell you what device and driver you have.

Would "Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller" be it?

Ok yip that's it...I don't think that's good enough is it? Or do I need to update the main driver (ialmrnt5.dll)?

I've had a look on Google and some people were experiencing a similar problem to yours, they had to update the main driver (ialmrnt5.dll), give me a minute and I'll find a link where you can do that from.

Okay, go here (http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=922) and choose your operating system, that should be the right driver update for you, if you have any trouble installing it, have a look around that site (it's the official site for your chipset so it should have all that info on it).

If that doesn't help things you might want to look at upgrading your laptop.

No problem, tell me if it works. :)

If your laptop is new, it should play the game fine. If it still doesn't work, I'm not sure what else to try, you might have to ask the place you got the laptop from.

Hmm...

Most of these games will run better on a desktop computer, since most desktop computers have more powerfull graphics cards/processors than all but the most expensive of laptops. It's also pretty difficult (if not impossible) to upgrade things on laptops. It's worth trying to run it at least, if it runs slow, there isn't too much you can really do about it.

Rats!

Intel video cards are crap. I doubt that game will be playable on your computer but you can definitely give it a shot.
