I just got the harddrive repaired on my computer. Everything is working great except for one thing. I cant save viewable images. It works a few times. But when I have something I need saved, the only options are to save is as ART or a Bitmap. Does anybody know how to fix this?
It worked before my harddrive was redone.

I have never heard of .ART extensions but I did some looking around for you and I found This (http://members.aol.com/oldnelly77/page5.htm) link that may or may not be of some use to you.

This is an AOL thing.
I must admit, your first strike is using AOL.
Second strike is being too stupid to fix your file associations.
My suggestion? Read the manual. This is so common sense it's scary.

You have sinned and in order to repent for your sins you must reformat and get a new ISP.

Well, this is simple stuff. Don't mean to offend.
AOL has stolen your file associations.
You can either stop using AOL, and you'll be fine, or just open IE within AOL and browse that way so you can save all those dirty pics using Windows Picture Viewer.
Also, you can download some cheap Picture Editor to reclaim the file associations. AOL will consistently steal them back, and all images within AOL are either ART or BMP, which are totally archaic.

ok i found out how to fix it. go to start, run, type regedit. then click on the + next to hkey_local_machine, and delete the software folder. that will reset all ur file associations. good luck.

ok, I tried that and it wouldnt let me, saying there was problems with a deleting it. But I think it may have worked or f***ed up cause I cant access Anything; including my control panel; it said I had to create an association in the Folder Options control panel. So.. how do I do that Or do I have to wait for it to reset(if that worked).
Each time I try to open something MAP NETWORK DRIVE opens up and ask me to choose a drive and name a folder. I cant get that working right either.
