The title basically says it, I was just wondering as I will stop getting lessons soon.

I'd say make sure he gets rid of all your 'bad habits' for a start. Maybe ask him about foot technique too.

Ask for exercises that you can keep developing after he's gone.
Ie- warmup exercises that utlize rudiments - and technique-
Ask for him to teach you stuff that will help your technique that you can learn to monitor for yourself.
The greatest value in learning is learning how to properly teach yourself.

The importance of a paradiddle.
Quoted for the truth.
Playing different styles / rudiments / playing along with music.

most of the stuff has been said but get him to look at your dynamics, it's much easier to work on them if someone is there to crititise your mistakes.

proper technique
Indeed.
Thats the first thing a good teacher should go over, there are many many ways to hurt yourself playing drums.
Proper technique is #1 of importance.

"does practice make perfect?"
"no, perfect practice makes perfect"
with that said, technique, practice, theory, maybe get him to go over proper notation?

Or, as Josiah used to say (What happened to him? I've not seen him on here since he hit 10,000 [Probably realised he needed a life :thumb:]) "practice makes permanent".

Yeah technique, no doubt. Also learn how to read music from him (if you cant already) because then you can learn for yourself through books and various handouts and such.
The most important thing a teacher can teach you - is how to teach yourself.

The only two things my old drum teacher taught me was how to twirl my sticks and how to smoke a cigarette and drum at the same time.
He was a douche.

If he could twirl his cigarettes and smoke his drumsticks at the same time that would be really cool

one thing that I never hear anybody say on this forum is independence between limbs, once you have good independence you openmany doors for yourself, and it makes it easier to learn, so, like my teacher, I believe it is very important to do independence exercices early.
