i'd just like to point out how crappy my set is. I'm renting it from my teacher and it's horrible. I don't even know what brand it is. My uncle also gave me a bunch of parts from his old kit so i added them to my current one which makes it look like i found all the stuff on the side of the road. Some of my cymbal stands are held up by tape. My rant. heres a pic.

first of all..fix the tom angles, make them more flat, though i tihnk you could get away with keeping them...they're not even close to as bad as i've seen...second of all, what ride is that? it looks neat!

Looks better than some I've seen, so don't feel to bad man. Most people started out just like you, so I would imagine you're not the only one :thumb:

My toms are weird because the mounting system sucks. It's just a T shape and they're crooked. I dont really know exactly what my ride is. It's Sabian as you could probably tell, but its a signature series and someone's name is on it but i can't really read it. i think it says Carrie Candin, but im not sure.

I'm proud of all my cymbals (even though i don't know what any of them are). One of my crashes just says CRASH on it and i can see the Zildjian logo. Also, behind me of you can't see is another ride/crash and floor tom.

Be grateful that you have a kit to play.

I guess i am, i just get mad at it every once and a while, when the tape breaks and my cymbals fall on to my toms while im playing.

It is a decent kit man. Way better than some I have seen before. Just be grateful with what you have and keep playing no matter what man :thumb:

Use Duct tape. It solves all problems.

I can't see the lugs, but the kick looks like an old Ludwig. My dad has an old orange sparkle he picked up somewhere haha.

One of my floor toms (the sparkly blue one) is a Ludwig, but i have absolutely no idea about the ohters. Anybody recognize the ride?

That kit isn't bad at all. My first kit I played on had a mounted tom, another mounted tom that didn't have a mount so we wedged it between the wall and my friend's guitar amp, and a floor tom with a hole in it. For cymbals i had acutally some decent zildjian hats and a thin crash... no ride though. And the bass drum had no reso head and blankets falling out of it. lol

i still dont understand how you kids can stand playing while facing a wall like that

that would just plain drive me completely nuts.

It's just the most space-conservative way to place a set I've found. Although at my house I used to put my set up half against the wall and half against the window so I had somewhere to look at least.

Well, i have no room, and it really doesnt matter which way im facing as long as I can play.

Indeed.

Besides you have something to play on! Alot of people wish they could have just one drum to play, never feel bad for what you have.

Lol you should have seen it when I put the duct tape to it! I actually found a way to duct tape it to the other mount and it sorta held there.

$15 a month. It's privately so it's not that expensive

Hey man, that's really not too bad of a set. Sure there's some missed matched stuff and the cymbals don't have names or whatever, but it looks decent. Consider yourself lucky, the only kit I have right now is my friends piece of **** Pearl Rhythm Traveler, with the cymbals it came with. Only hats and a "crash", if you really wanna call what Pearl gives you with their sets a crash. I'd rather make my own set out of shoe boxes then play the one I'm playing now.

Those tom angles are ok, I've seen some really gay tom angles though! with some kits it's impossible to set the toms to my liking.

Anyone got any pics of n00b gay tom angles so we can compare? Always good for a chuckle.
