Alright, I have my starter set still, a Pearl Forum Series 5-piece from about 4 years ago, which now I would say is in Good condition.
I have an opportunity to get a Tama Rockstar Fusion Custom 5-piece, about in the same condition, about as old.
The cymbals I already know what I'm going to do with, but for just the actual set, which would you say is better, the Rockstar or the Forum series? I haven't been actively looking at sets for years so I don't know which is higher end.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Also, how much would you estimate I could get on the sale for either one?

The Rockstar's definitely better than the Forum, but as far as resale value goes, I have no idea. Hopefully someone else can help you out there :thumb:

the older rockstars seem to hold about the same value. old superstars on the other hand...

Yea, your not gonna get a BUNCH of money from the RockStars, they are definiatly better than the Forums tho.

Yes the rockstar is a little better.
Have you looked into the Pro-m's? MUCH better then both of those.

The Rockstars are definitly better then the Forum series.
The Forums use Philipean Mahogany, while the Rockstars use a mix of Birch/Bassword ( Basswood for the outer ply for nicer laquers ).
I say go with the Rockstar.

But like DBJ said, try the Pro Ms. Also, check out PDP, they have great stuff.

Been playing on a second-hand Rockstar fusion 5 piece kit for 4 years, no problems whatsoever, not one fault. It's a very durable, sturdy good sounding kit imo and the sizes and hardware make the toms very easy to play on.

Rockstars are also Philippine Mahogany - you were describing the new Superstars

yea, I would look into those, but they're kind of out of my range for price though....
How much do you think a used forum series in very good condition would bring up?

Probably like $2-300 bucks would be my guess.
