I'm gonna make a piccolo snare out of a keller shell. 14x3, ofcourse.
I need to know where to get hardware and some instructions on how to drill the holes for the lugs appropriately.

How much do you think this will cost me? I'm assuming 100 dollars tops.

Check out the drumshed.org forum. There is lots of helpful stuff on there.

Here are some places to get some supplies
http://www.drumfoundry.com/zen/
http://www.egodrumlugs.com/
http://www.precisiondrum.com/html/body_parts.html
http://www.stellardrum.com/

And here's a little how to for drilling the lugs and stuff

I'm guessing, depending on how much you get the shell for and if you get the bearing edges and snare bed pre-cut or do it yourself, that you'll spend about 150 at least, unless you find some super cheap parts.

I'm actually going to be making a couple snares and one of them is a 13x3.5 using a keller shell. I have the price estimated at 188 before shipping on stuff. I'm getting Ego lugs, brass hardware and a nice throw off and stuff though, so yours might turn out to be cheaper then mine.

Black Hardware + Silver Sparkle
Drum builder has 3x13 "Hard Rock" Maple shells; 10 ply with bearing edges for 46.00.
Very good price to me.
A Classic Piccolo Style strainer will only be 11.90.
2 - 6 hole, black snare hoops will cost me 15.60 each. A 16 strain snare wire will be 6.50.
A silver quarter sheet of wrap will be 23.80.

This should be fun. Will update later. :)

Don't forget to order your lugs, vents, tension rods, washers, mounting screws (if they're not included with lugs/strainer), heads, and snare strips/cords. Looks like you can get everything on the drum builder site. Have fun man! I just ordered the shell for my first snare. 14x6.5. Can't wait to get it!

free drilling and bearing edges.

To get everything needed for an 8x8 tom including shipping to australia they quoted me $140. but you can't get birch keller shells off them so I didn't buy it. I was going to try my hand at finishing.
