For my audition, I have to do some sight reading. Thing is, I am fairly crap. I just can't think that fast! I know how to read music and all, it's just that I'm slow at corresponding the note with it's location on the bass!
Can you give me any tips on how to sight read well? Do I have to know about different positions on the neck?
well do you know your fretboard well?

Dude it takes time. The only piece of worthwhile advice anyone is going to give you is to practice alot. there is no quick answer

The way I learned to sight read was the hard way, but also the quickest way. I joined jazz band in 9th grade with zero reading ability, and was essentially forced to learn how and keep up with the band in order to stay in and not get kicked out. While that isn't the ideal situation, I certainly got my **** together quickly. As an alternative, I would suggest to simply read as much music as you possibly can. Yes, it will be slow at first, but theres no better way to learn except by doing.
