I'm looking for some recommendations for that old school jazz that is just swinging like crazy. I don't like the smooth jazz stuff with the boring sometimes loops instead of drums, i like the old style with the swinging drums.

Check out some of Charles Mingus stuff as well. Art Blakey is another good example of some hard swing in a smaller band enviornment.

My idea of Good Swinging Jazz is anything Big Band really.
Including the above, Tommy Dorsey is awesome too.

IMO Its more to do with the arrangements, so keep an eye out for Gil Evans. His arrangements are ALWAYS wikkid.
