i am looking for some new cymbals for christmas and would idealy like to be able to purchase them in a set. Any ideas?? I play a wide range of music and have a budget of about £400 max

it depends how much you have to spend. if your on a limited budget you should check out wuhan S series. if you have a larger budget you could maybe check out the zildjian A series pack or something. idealy though you want to go to your local store and play each cymbal and decide which ones you like most.

A custom set is nice, but I would buy individually so that you get what your ears really like.

And please remember this... Lets use, for example, the Zildjian A Custom pack with free 18" crash.

It comes with 14" hi-hats, 16" crash (free 18" crash) and a 20" ride. If you are not happy with that particular A Custom ride, then ask your music shop to switch it out for a 20" ping ride for the same price ($560).
You might not get that fancy box or free cymbal bag, but you'll have EXACTLY the sound palette you're looking for in your drum kit!
