View Full Version : new pics + rack
finally got my Icon rack yesterday..took me around 45 minutes to build it all up and move it into position..already love the extra "space"!! Pics are made with my phone so pardon the quality. I should have my 12" sidesnare and 8" tom before the end of the year..

wowzers(<--- can anyone guess what cartoon that from by the way)
That kit is really really nice, I love those sizes and the cymbals...but not a fan of racks(no pun intended). Otherwise I think I would rob your house for that kit.
3003's are the ones that have basswood in it right? have you heard an all maple set and is there a difference between the to at all?(soncially that is)
I played a 3005 once and the bassdrum sounded a bit meatier, but I cant really remember..you would really have to put them side to side..I believe SonorKen once did that; He might know more about the exact differences :)

Awesome kit brother . Is the rack just for cymbals and toms and what not ? Could be pretty handy, not yet but after christmas, then im laughing. Oh, how much did it cost ?
My plan is to have everything "racked"..so I can vacuum around my set :)
I paid 250 euros for the rack and three Pcx200 clamps..which is around $292..so its a fairly good deal as far as European prices are concerned.

Racks really clean up your set nice. Sweet looking kit, everything's top notch.
thanks all..
I`m basically buying "everything" I would ever need regarding hardware at the moment...so when (ever) I'm getting new drums, I only have to get a shellset..should save some costs in the future

They are making it in Germany..for the same price as a normal 8" 3003 tom would be :)

NICE lookin kit Carn, really cleaned up the footprint of the kit. The cool thing about having more room is now you will find yourself filling it in with more gear!
As far as the 3003's vs the 3005's, there are some differences but they are slight, I doubt most people would pick up on them. The kick drum has a little more boom to it, the snare's sound about the same, the 3005's toms do sound better. Damo is another one who has had both kits side by side I believe.

Your drumset looks great man, I really like that finish. I am looking into buying the Iron Cobra Lever-Glide HH stand, what do you think of it personally?

hmm, dont really know, altough 'if' I need to crash I usually use the 18" with my right hand..never really thought about that.

Well its still working as fine as on the day I bought it so if you like the feel of it I can only recommend it.

Nice boobs.
I mean....rack....
work in progress-pics, got the 8" tom today. First had it in a typical metal setup, 3 in front, 2 to the right. Took more space than I wanted to give away so I put it in a 8-10-14-16 setup and the 12" tom and 12" snare to the left. Still have to play around with it and add my china/secondary hats/cowbell.. Good pics will follow when I`m pleased with it.

just curious, is that white stuff on the wall next to the drums some sort of sound dampening stuff? if so, how much does it cost, and how good does it work?

Lovin' it. That finish is gorgeous in person

they are cardboard inlays from fruitbaskets from a local supermarket..they dont insulate the sound but the do stop the sound flying around to much. The room is an old attic, we build a "room in a room" in that with a wooden fame, isolation material, plaster walls and the cardboard. You can still here me play outside but its within soundlimits.

Looks nice man. Just a thought, if you brought your hats in a further you could put the 8" above/behind it (think Peart).
Those splashes look sextacular.
I tried that but I didn't like it at all. I do like having the tom far to the left of the highhat with the snare, opens up more possibilities than having it just in front of you.
