I just watched the Road Runner United DVD again because I was bored and I have a couple of questions. And it might help if you have seen it to understand.
First Question:
On Matt Heafy's part of the DVD he has Dave Chavarri as one of the drummers. On Dave Chavarri kit he has some weird red blocks on the rim of toms what are they?
Second Question
When Mike Smith appears he has like some fabric going round his stick just where you would place your thumbs! It's width is about 2-3cm. Is this just some grip kinda thing or not?
Thanks

I guessing the red things on his rims are prabably triggers.

However much I dislike blasting, I have to admit that Mike Smith is the man.
Andols Herrick has some good points on that dvd too.

Yeah definitely, very tight, but his real good points are his flexibility with odd time, and creativity. His drumming is just awesome.
