Here is Mike Portnoy's brand new TAMA kit! Isn't it just b.e.a.utiful? It really is amazing what people will do for you when you have LOTS of money :lol:

Its basically the siamese monster with the right side(the one with one bass drum) re-sized. He got given a arcrylic shell kit which he loved soo much and wanted to incorporate it with his current kit. But seeing Tama dont make arcrylic shells anymore, he got Tama to make a new kit to the exact same sizes as the Arcrylic kit.

Most of those arent even his cymbals. They were hired after sabian forgot to deliver the rest. The snares arent his in the photos either

I actually don't like that kit at all, the setup looks extremely uncomfortable, and he looks like a dumbass. Dyed blue beard?...no.

I think it looks fun... apart from running from one end of the set to the other in the middle of a song :p

if you listen to octavarium you can hear the "bonham" kit. It was used on the majority of the album.

I don't like his set up at all... Sure it's nice and big and flashy but totaly useless.... He dosen't need 2 kits in one.... He can just get one with lots of toms..... Much more intelligent...

Now real kits look like David Silveria's.... Morgan Rose's.... Martin Lopez's... Daniel Erlandsson's.... Or up to a certain extent Matt McDonough's...

That was really cool that a bohnam tribute show got him to add a bohnam section to his kit. That kit's color is amazing too, portnoy is awesome.


p.s. Does anyone else find him to look absolutely foolish with his goatee dyed that color blue? I think he looks retarded, still awesome player.
