Awe shucks...well here is that ACOS intro, I can play it moocho better now I should prolly re-record it. Anyways my band is working on a new song, I'll prolly lay down the drum tracks tommorow and maybe hook up the cam if I'm confident enough. The guitarist (r0und3r on MX) has got me doing some crazy stuff like 1-2-3, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2-3, 1-2, 1-2...which ends up being 9/8 or something...all while he's playing 4/4 on top...:amaze:  :naughty: :)

Not sure if this is correct still, but it's from one of his other posts.
DW collectors series drums, 8''(DW picallo tom), 10'', 12'', and 14'' toms, 22'' bass.
13x7 yamaha maple Akira Jimbo sig model snare.
Paiste cymbals> 2002 18'' crash, 2002 18'' power crash, 2002 18'' nova china, dimensions 18'' power crash, sig 18'' thin china, sig 14'' sound-edge hats, sig 13'' dark-crisp hats, sig 20'' dry-heavy ride, sig 8'' splash(I've had this thing for 5 years not even dented).
oh ya...and a sabian 8'' max stax so that makes me not a brand whore...
mics> shure 57 on snare, D-112 on bass, Audix micro-D's on 4 toms(I highly recommend these babies). No overheads, did'nt need them cuase Paiste rocks.
Anyways my band is working on a new song, I'll prolly lay down the drum tracks tommorow and maybe hook up the cam if I'm confident enough.
Crazy stuff, can't wait

In this vid I'm using a Mapex Black Panther Maple 14x5.5...color matching to the Mapex Orion classic series kit (smokey black or something) In the vid. I usually use a 13'' snare and when I toss this bad boy back on I'm like Woo...this snare is awesome but it takes a few days for my ears to adjust...

Sure...Although I can't play any off the electronic parts I do know the majority most tool songs...except for some truly crazy parts that only the man himself can play. Check this link I have lots of covers although most are a few years old>>> http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=175879 Honestly I know about 75% of most TOOL songs beside the parts mentioned aboved.

The kit I'm using right now is My Mapex Orion Classic series set with 10'',12'',14'' inch toms, 22'' bass. Mapex Black Panther Steel 13x3.5 snare(not shown in vid) and a Black Panther Maple 10x5.5 snare(not in vid). Same cymbals as posted below except I'm using Niel Peart's Sabian Paragon 22'' ride instead of the Paiste Sig dry-heavy ride.:thumb:

Energy is your greatest achievement. Fact.
Movement (I think it's called) is awesome too. And Geltab.
Swizz. The type of drumming you play is similar to what I like to play, except you're much better.. hehe.

OH! If you could get a video up of Pushit that would be cool as hell man, I'm trying to learn it right now.
On a side note: If you goto Tool drum tabs on mxtabs, Pushit is labeled "Pu****" because it detects "****" as a cuss word, but I hovered over the link and checked the url, and just replaced the stars with the actual words and it worked. Maybe someone could notify a webmaster of that or something.

^Thanx man!!! Ya I noticed our styles are pretty close man thats cool. Ya Hylomorph/Movement/Geltab/Energy are def my fave still. Just a little background on geltab...that was just a totally improve jam while I was in another state of conciousness "hint song title hint" and the rest of the song was written around it..cool huh?!? and I used Hot sticks to give it that chill sound.
^^Phew man, Starship thats a toughy...I know the basic of most of that song..Ill have to go over that song and get back to you.:thumb:

Massik> Well I'm starting to listen to alot more Opeth. Thier new album is awesome and I really like damnation and blackwater park. I'm not a fan of teh death growl type singing but I put up with it cuz his clean vocals are some of the best I've heard. I don't know any Opeth songs persay but besides a few BD riffs that are to fast and long for little ole' me I'm pretty most of it is learnable.
Starship> For cymbal choice I'm using all 18'' crashes. For that type of music you really need the crashes to cut through the layers of sound and have a good sustain. To me most 16'' crashes besides a few power crash types sound like low pitched splashes. Also I tend to go for the more "glassy" or "bright" types of cymbals and not the dark or clangy one that don't counter the low of the other instruments that go with that type of music.
Oh ya I've been playing a little over 10 years self-taught and the Glass-Prison...give me a week or two I'm moving and then I will have my studio in a huge dried-in basement and have all 3 of my kits up and miced and I can basically play 24-7 and not bother a soul..
