Hi. Dj Deirdre here.

Just wanted you all to know about an up-coming Japanese release that features the cream of the UK's Funk/Acid Jazz scene. Entitled 'Interstellar' it features:

Jan Kincaid - Drums (The Brand New Heavies), Gary Crockett - Bass (The James Taylor Quartet), Simon Batholomew - Guitar (The Brand New Heavies), JP 'Bluey' Maunick - Guitar (Incognito), Snowboy - Percussion (& The Latin Section), Nick Van Gelder - Percussion (Jamiroquai/Akimbo), Mike Smith - Sax (Gorillaz/Blur/Jamiroquai), Jim Hunt - Sax (Primal Scream/The BNH's/The Verve), Andy Ross - Flute (The Herbaliser), Nichol Thomson - Trombone (Incognito/The BNH's), Dominic Glover - Trumpet (US3/The BNH's/Incognito/JTQ), and the delicious vocal's of Miss Lucy (Beverley Knight/The BNH's) with special guest vocalist Imaani.

This is a f**king top-notch album with some pumping beats & throbbing basslines.

hhmmm - very disco (as you said). Sounds very much like anything off the later Totally Wired comps (10 onwards...)

Judging by the personnel, I had expected something more like the Sound Stylistics 'Deep Funk' album.
