I just got my first new bass. It is a Lakland Skyline series, I think it was 55-02, it's 5 string, ash body, maple neck and fretboard, 3 band eq, and bartolini pickups, I'll have pics later tonight or tomorrow.
edit: here are the pics:

thanks, I will get some pics up soon, but I might not record because I'm not really very good, and I'm not sure how to use the B string yet, so maybe tomorrow, or if I feel courageous tonight, but yeah, so far it's really really good.

I have no idea where Samuel's is. I was talking about DaddyOs. He's got 5 or 6 lakes.
edit: Is that the one at White Oaks?

It was at White Oaks, but now it's over by Lazy Boy. I haven't been to DaddyOs.

The guy that owns DaddyOs is a bassist, so you should definately check it out. He carries ernie balls, warwicks and laklands. He plays a lakeland on stage too with late arrival.

I had an MIM Fender Jazz, and Neatobassman, I took the pics, I just need my dad to upload them to his computer from the camera and email them to me, he's out now, and he'll be back at 11, so it'll be at 11 or tomorrow during the day.

aks_29
11-25-2005, 06:36 PM
azn bassist: yes, it is
Bassplayingpineapple: it is maple
Down'd Angel: I did a recording, and posted it, it's not very good, but it should probably give you a general idea of the tone.
edit: And, I was wondering what were some easy songs that incorporate the low B string well. I really have no idea what to do with it, and I would like to get some ideas. Thanks

That and the fact that the liberal media has convinced us that we should buy warwicks and schecters.

that's what I thought. But yeah, I guess it's true that there aren't that many around, I don't even have gc's here in Canada, but of the stores I've been to (3) the one where I got mine was the only one with a Lakland, and they also had a lot more basses than any of the others, if anybody's ever in montreal you should really check out this store, Italmelodie, or something like that.

That recording is terrible quality.
I can't hear any "tone" either - it just sounds like rolled off treble to me.
