what happens when you attach more than one cab to the same head, is the wattage devided by the number of cabs or how does that work?

it depends on the impedance of the cabs and the power rating of the head. if you have two 8 ohm cabs that will give you a 4 ohm load. if you have two 4 ohm cabs that will give you a 2 ohm load. so for example, if you have a head with a power rating of 500 watts @ 4 ohms then as long as you have a 4 ohm load total you're safe.

so if it has 500 watts at 4 ohms and i have 2 cabs that are 8 ohms then 500 watts will got to both cabs? because 2 8 ohm cabs = 4ohms

well it'd be like 250 watts into both cabs evenly so 500 watts total. yes.

That sounds about right. The whole ohms thing always confuses me though.

Yep.

wait now we have 2 ppl say different things...
what is it cuz this always confused me to
@ 500 watts w/2 cabs, is each cab putting out 250 watts to make 500 or 500 watts out of each cab...?

the head can only push 500 watts total, so it's not possible for it to push 500 into each cab or that would be 1000 watts total. if you had a 1000 watt cab @ 4 ohms then it could push 500 into each cab.

if you have two 8 ohm cabs that are hooked in parallel w/ a 500w head, roughly 250w should go to each cab, i believe.
