View Full Version : FS #10: "Forget to Remember" by Mudvayne

well i dunno if it was alright for me to post this, but i wasn't getting a response in the other FS thread and i finished this today so i figured i'd throw it out there. this is the song "Forget to Remember" off Mudvayne's newest album Lost and Found. this is definitely one of my favorite songs by mudvayne. the bass is not extremely complicated but the timing can be tricky during the verses. i tabbed most of this by ear but i'm pretty sure it's correct. if anyone sees a discrepancy feel free to point it out.

BPM = 94.

that's about it. the chorus, interlude and bridge is played again.

i've been listening to mudvayne for quite awhile now (i have all their albums) and imo ryan martinie is one of the most emotional bassists out there. he's not only extremely skilled and probably one of the best metal bassists out there, but he always manages to throw very emotional lines into songs you wouldn't think would have them. he doesn't always follow the guitar riffs and that's one of the things i love about him. in this specific song the verses stand out to me the most. it flows very well with the vocals and even accents them at some points. another great example of this off the same album is the song "Choices." very emotional and catchy bass line in that song as well. the chorus in this song is not difficult but it's one of those lines that makes you want to bob your head. anyway, that's why i felt this song was worth tabbing out and being mentioned.

Nice manner of reposting a tab, but I think the FS is more about analyzing what is played.

Also, change the tab font to Courier, it'll line up better.

It's a good song, and I fixed the tab.

neatobassman was supposed to have the next FA.

After his, Sade should go.

I'm guessing Jabawanga just got confused, since his question wasn't answered, honest mistake.

It looked pretty good as far as I can tell.

Most Mudvayne songs DO have solid, unbreakable basslines.

Nope.

We do share the same bass, though. So that makes us cool.

However, I have modded mine to be far superior to yours.
