I'm sure this has done before but I'm relatively new to these forums so I'll ask this any ways. I have a choice between either the Iron cobra doble pedals or the eliminator double pedals. I don't have any local stores that carry these to try them out so I have to go completely off of online reviews. I've used the iron cobras to hit the bass twice and it felt really nice but I havn't used the eliminators at all. The eliminators I know are alot more adjustable which is good for me because I'm really picky about a the feel of my pedal. The iron cobras on the other hand I know are built really sturdy and from my quick experience with them have a pretty good feel to them. Which do you guys think is better and why? also which of the various makes of each one do you prefer, such as the dual chain or single chain or strap drive.
well if youve already had experience with the IC then go for it. you say you liked it then get it. If you get it and end up not liking it im sure you can return it but with hgih quality pedals such as IC they are so adjustable it shoudl be good for you either way.

IMO DW's are better than both.
But out of those two the IC's own.

Well IC's are the best ever. And my drum teacher says IC's have the most adjustments and he knows ALOT about drums. But I keep hearing Eliminators have more.
Doesnt matter Iron Cobra's are the ****.

Well your drum teacher would just be plain wrong then. There's no denying the Eliminators are a lot more adjustable than the Cobras.

Can you prove it? I wanna know for sure.

The adjustable cams for one thing.
Although the rest of the adjustments are about the same.

You can adjust the cams on IC's. Do you mean the cheesy color changing thing?

Yes those swap out.

Oh that doesnt count as an adjustment. It doesnt affect the pedal right?

Haha yeah it does man. It's the entire cam. I'd say that that's the only thing that the Elims have over the IC's adjustment wise, except that you can move the footboard backwards or forwards for different feels I think too, but I'm not sure on that. IMO I think the IC's still take the win. The feel is great and super smooth, and those pedals are built to LAST. Plus they look a lot cooler than the Elims do

I have used Iron Cobras and can say... they are awesome. I have yet to use Eliminators so I can't really help you there. You might want to consider DW 5000, they are my personal favorite in that price range.

He has stated that he isn't able to try them out since he doesn't have any local stores in his area, so he must go by online reviews to get what he likes.

Changes it very much so. Your taking the whole cam off.

 Doesn't affect it? Of course it does, the shape of the cam is one of the most important factors in the feel of the pedal... the Eliminator also has the ability to move the footboard, the powershifter feature, the Cobra doesn't have that, so that's another 3 feels that the Cobra won't have. Aside from that, everything the Cobra has, the Eliminator has.

I haven't exactly tried an Iron Cobra. But I'm a sucker for eliminators, I love them to death. Does any body have the Cobra Clutch from Iron Cobra? any thoughts on it?

In the price range of the IC's and Eliminators, I'd suggest DW 5000's.

Oh you see I'm such a Iron Cobra whore that I dont bother to read everything about other pedals. I thought the cam thing was just a color swapping feature to be "cool".
IC's are better anyway, and like Half Life said they look badass.

However they are both top end pedals. I've tried both but I went and bought a pearl powershifter pedal. I can't say which one you should have, you will just get mixed reviews on both of the pedals, as seen in this thread, it's pretty much even vote. A little. :p
If you went to the shops tomorrow, or online, what would you get, if you couldn't play on it?
The Ic's do look badass. Maybe that's why the the metal/hard rock genre players get it.

I was picking between the DW 5002, Iron Cobra double pedal, and the Elims double. I really liked the feel of the Iron Cobra's, but I liked the cam changing feature on the Elims, because who knows when I'll want something different, then I wouldn't have to buy another pedal. The guy at the store suggested the DW 9002's which were out of my price range but had infinite cam adjustability, and a floating rotor. It was nice, but out of my price range...then I tried the 5002's, and I loveddd them. It was smooth, but not too smooth, and had alot of adjustments(no cam adjustment though) I just liked the feel of it so I went with that. My old pedal had a normal cam(forget the name...DW refers to their's as "turbo") and the 5002 they had was eccentric(DW calls it "accelerator") and I was a little worried about if I would like this, but it's not a huge difference, and I just got used to it and loveee it now. I don't think you'll regret either pedal choice.

The adjustable cams for one thing.
Although the rest of the adjustments are about the same.
And the footboard can be moved closer or further from the bass drum (whilst the fram/beater stays the same distance) giving it lighter/heavier feels

Yeah that's actually color coding for different shapes.
I prefer IC's and I just got my new ones pretty recently. Man are they ever smoooooth. I love these things. I've got the Rolling Glide single. I like that a lot better than Power Glide because I feel a lot more in control. I'm also just used to a round cam. I also dig the toughness of the IC's, I hate a light feeling pedal.

 That's probably the funniest thing I've read on here for a while... a color swapping feature to look cool. "Press Release: Pearl releases two new cams, purple and yellow, for the ultimate in cool color customization. Now drummers everywhere can be 2 more different shades of awesome."
Anyway, if we are going to go against what the guy seems to be set on, Eliminators or Cobras, then of course I would recommend the 5000. I was on the assumption he had tried it and didn't like it that much considering he didn't mention it in his original post.

Flying Dragons don't pwn any of the big 3, at all. They don't have as sturdy of a build, and the features aren't as great. I find Flying Dragons don't live up to their hype.

Flyings are horrible, alot of innovative yet stupid features....
DW... Too weak.... adjustements aren't great yet nice feeling....
IC.... Built to last, super smooth yet kind of heavy.....
Elims.... Many innovative features, extremel smooth, interchangeable cams.... but some little things are annoying.... But I still consider this one to be the best pedal.....
It's all about opinion.... who cares what others think.... Just pick the one you like.... Heck I'd just get Axis....
