Well, i just took 20 minutes at my drums working at how to do the single handed roll. It was really annoying at first, but then i started to get how to do it and so now i can do it. I'm pretty happy now, but i don't think i'll be using it anytime except to show off.

Ya which way do you do it? Do you slam it off the rim like everyone else or is it legit?

Ummm....it's not really possible to do a steady single handed roll WITHOUT using the rim as a fulcrum...

Yeah Johnny Rabb is the one who mainly teaches the one handed rim roll. If you can show me a vid where he doesn't use the rim, then I'll concede the point.
Also, that thing he does where he lays one stick on the drum and hits that stick with the other stick causing it to roll doesn't count.

I can't do a single handed roll. But I CAN single handedly eat a cheese and tomatoe roll no problem.

Johnny Rabb isn't the only one who plays single-hand rolls. It's possible to play it without the rim. I think it was Damo(?) who posted a video of himself doing it...I don't know where the hell it is now:confused:

I know Buddy Rich was the champ at the single handed roll (without rim). He's intense. I use the rim.

So he's covered in cheese? Ahh that means his single-handed roll chomp isn't yet as clean as it needs to be.
Flamacue: Grab a metronome, and start your chomping slower, then work your way up to full speed chomp.
