Having trouble tuning toms.
First of all I have Coated G2's. And Hyrdo Glass.
I got the hydro after feeling the need to just switch up a bit there nice they can go beyond dead and actually sound like a moon gel'd tom with some with the little bit of sustain that carries. Im just wondering if anyone tried these out and how they would go or did about tuning them. I either get too dead, or Too much reso comming out. Having trouble. Maybe for christmas ill get a tuner instead of relying all on the torque key, Some of my Lugs dont always touch the hoops and Most of the times when I go to finger tight the lug its gets tight but doesnt make contact with the conter hoop so Im prolly getting un even tension from the start. Its not bad or anything But my sound could use some tweaking and I dont know how to go about it.
I mean Ive read an online guide b4 but all it did was tell me what a batter and reso was and to figer tighten lugs turn evenly and opposite lug to lug. Im just confused on how much to turn and how to match up the reso and batter to ahieve a focused wet sound thats not actually dead but nothing that rings or gives off way too much resonance.
