hello everyone, i'm right handed. my right hand is fine, but my left really sucks. the fastest (smoothly) that i can play is 16ths at around 120 bpm. i was wondering how to make my left hand least equal to my right hand? i also have a problem with accenting the first note of anything if i start right handed.

use the lft hand for the weiner. You need to build up the basic muscles first.

Practice rudiments A LOT! I feel the same way as you do about my left, and thus I've decided to switch my whole kit around to being lefty so I can start fresh and do it all over again with my left and that should really get things moving. Plus it'll benefit both my left hand AND left leg, so I suggest you try doing that if you feel it'll help you :thumb:

8 on hand excercises work well.
Just keep increasing the BPM and playing with your left.
Afterwards work on Triplets and Doubles with your left only.
I have the same problem, and it's mostly because my left doesn't have the muscle memory built in to deal with the rebound, forcing me to think about controlling my stick.
Make sure you watch your stick height and accuracy with the left. Making sure you hit the head/pad in the center and making sure that you are able to control how high the stick bounces with your left is really important (you'll find that it's very, very natural with your right however)
