as some of you know, i switched recently from a mapex single pedal to a dw 7000 double pedal. i'm learning a lot and going through rudiments with my feet just like i did with my hands when i first started playing.

The problem i'm having is as follows:

-The dw 7000 pedal itself is smaller than the mapex pedal. because of this, the natural position of my foot on the mapex translates to one that's too far forward on the DW. it's almost directly under the beater, and the front of my foot is even rubbing up against the little bar that rotates with the beater on it (not sure what its' called).

-I tried moving my foot back on the pedal, so that my heel is almost off the footboard. This was somewhat uncomfortable and tough to get used to. Also, since i have to have my foot further back, i feel as if though i am too close to the bass drum, but i really can't move further away because i will be too far from my drums and cymbals!

any suggestions?

Try before you buy.

Try before you buy.

was thinking this as i was reading the post.
didnt you try the pedal out before you bought it?

i have heard it can be weird getting use to a new pedal. maybe just tough it out for a while, or take it back if you can. i dont know where you bought it from
