Yeah, I'm being pretty impressed by LOG so far, I missed them at Download which was a shame but hopefully I'll catch them next time round in the UK. What's the Burn the Priest stuff like?

It's a lot more raw, but nonetheless still pretty good

They aren't my thing at all... they sound rather generic to me. I just feel there are other better bands than them in their genre.

They're ok. There's much better, but there's also much worse. They're not death metal though. At all.

Are they considered more of thrash. I've only hear a couple of songs by them off of the satallite radio and it sounded kinda thrash to me.

Anyways, I was impressed enough to want to buy my first album from them and everyone I know says to get Ashes in the Wake. Do you guys agree?

find the mxrockandmetal map thing here and it'll have a link that has a big map of the world. You enter your name and zip code, and upload a pic of yourself so others can see what you look like and where you live.

It's pretty awesome. We've got almost 100 people now.

eesh, i dont consider them thrash... when I think of thrash, bands like Testament, Dark Angel, Slayer, Kreator, Sodom, Destruction, Exciter, ect, come to mind. Lamb of God doesnt sound like those at all.
but doesnt really matter though, you like what you like, whatever style it is, no?

That is true. I guess maybe they have more of a Strapping Young Lad, or Fear Factory sound to them maybe?

I'm not to familiar with this band, just starting to get into them. I was trying to think of a band that I've heard that sounds like this one.

They are one of my favourite bands. I saw them at Download this year, it was the highlight of the weekend for me.

It doesn't really bother me what genre they fall into. It's seems their genre changes each album : \

They sounded a bit Post-Thrash on As the Palaces Burn, and kind of took a more mature straight metal approach to Ashes of the Wake. I haven't heard any of the other albums.

I love Ashes of the Wake, the album, it's so good.

They're not metalcore, not that there is anything wrong with that

Converge, 100 Demons, Hatebreed = metalcore

Lamb of God sounds like a cross between Slayer and Pantera, as to what actual sub-genre that puts them in doesn't matter to me

I like Lamb Of God. The majority of users here hate them, but they were pretty much my first modern metal band. I don't like AotW, but I'm a huge fan of AtPB. The production and songwriting is amazing. I love how they don't water down their choruses or anything with any sort of melody. It's good to see such simple, riff-based music become so popular.

The majority of users here don't hate them. They are kind of popular actually, and I think everyone agrees they are very technically skilled musicians. I love how they never let up with the intensity in their songs. brutal from start to finish

Most everyone around here loves them. I, however, don't. They're good for one song because they have a very heavy, unique style. but any more then that and it sound like they recycle riffs ever available chance with few exceptions. Too bad, because I'm sure I would like them if they would think outside the box once in a while. Their riffing style could stand to be a little more technical too; it's quite simple really.

More proof that we aren't clones :p

I personally love Lamb of God. They are my second favorite riff writers.

Their riffs are very heavy and catchy as hell, which I love. Unfortunately they fail to keep my attention after a few songs and all the riffs seem to follow the same formula. They do have many strong points, they just need to emphasize them.

Alot of people seem to not like the vocals, I on the other hand, dont mind them and sometimes they sound pretty good. LOG is one of my favorite metal bands.

saw a vid of them live...the crowd split into 2 and when the drums kick in they sprint into eachother...someone had to have died in a medieval clash sort of a thing with 50,000 metal/death heads

/\, you'd be talking about a Wall of Death. They're really not as bad as they tend to look. As far as I'm aware no one has ever died BECAUSE of a wall of death, a German guy died IN one a little while back and a lot of people assumed\blamed it on the wall but as it turned out he had heart problems that could have killed him anytime. I've done two pretty huge ones and several smaller ones and I'm still here!

They did the Wall Of Death during Black Label - I believe - I wasn't in it, though I, I was nearly at the back of the tent that they were playing in.

I was in the Wall Of Death for Caliban, though. It was awesome.

I dont like it how alot of bands today, preferbely small bands use the wall of death. I find it gets too over used, i heard that unearth first began the wall of death although lamb of god have taken it on and it is mostly used during black label. Also, Chimaria uses it aswell but named the moses pit hance the singers nick name; moses

Wow.

Saw Lamb of God play last night and must say they put on an amazing show.

The two opener bands (Tori and Confesser) were good but no one really got into it. Seemed like everyone bottled up for LOG.

Around 10:00 Lamb of God came on and opened with Laid to Rest and everyone immediatly got into it. They put out so much energy and interacted with the crowd a lot. While the band was jamming I looked over and saw Randy climbing the speakers and getting onto the crossbeams above every one. He crawls around up there untill hes above the middle of the crowd. All the sudden the lights turn on for a second and then back off and Rady jumps down into the crowd and surfs back up to the stage.

The whole concert was intense. There final song was badass. Before they start the song Randy says something like "I know my band mates are going to hate me for this but were doing it anyway. Since we have wireless connecters were going to crowd surf to the end of the crowd and back while playing". they were hesitant but they started playing Black Label and they all start crowd surfing while playing (except for the drummer of course). Of course there were some mess ups but no one cared. It was cought on tape so hopefully it'll be released. Was so awesome, I had a great time.
