Whats the point? I dont really see how you'd play that

instead of the snare in front of me i have it so its lined up with the toms so it completley surrounds me i do own a double bass pedal but it is alot more comfortable i have been playing for 8 years and i found that this style is alot more productive

imagine both single pedals right next to each other you legs are almost touching each other put your left hand down and it touches the snare put you right hand down and it touches the 14"/tom i will put pic up as soon as my sis gives the damn cam back

I've tried it before becuase i've got two pedals but.....ilike my snare a lot more between my legs then i do out in front of me or beside me so i didn't care much for that set up at all. But i haven't heard of anybody else doing it though.

Yeah wouldn't it be difficult to do rolls and such on the snare?

There is a reason why you searched long and hard and didn't find anyone else that plays like this. It's pointless. There is no point in playing like that... absolutely no advantages whatsoever, unless i'm not thinking of something... It would be too difficult to switch from the hi-hat pedal to your bass drum pedal, and your snare would be in an inaccessible place.

PdoubleE

i think it dose have advantages i use a remote hi hat stand so its very accessable possible more acc.

tom Bd tom
Sn Rkk tom
---throne---

Bd-bass drum
sn- snare
R-remote hi hat
k-single kick pedal

i have pic when i dont have the remote hats but it will still give you a good idea ill post em tomarrow

ps as soon as i get my axis double pedal and i am happy with it i wil play double pedal again i just dont like anything that has a slow slave and thats like pretty much every pedal on the market(except axis and the giant step) i own an iron cobra and its **** but .... $$$ makes the world move

that would be awkward. Don't you bump your legs together...I think I would, and that would definetely throw me off.

my first reaction: There's no way you can set your pedals up like that without causing severe discomfort to the testiclites

The only thing I can think of is an egg-kick, where you have two pedals for getting two sounds. I have never heard/seen anyone using it like a double kick.http://www.stdrums.de/drums/egg3.JPG

the two pedals wont be flat unless you have one hella wierd bass drum hoop...i tried that once for fun and they were both tilting in towards eachother and the beaters almost hit eachother...

i keep my pedals spaces apart enough so the dont slide inwards and hit sideways and because they are spaced i dont hurt my balls my legs dont hit eachother

ok, in the picture you mapped out for us, you didn't show where the hihat was, just hte drums, and if hte hi hat is where it is conventionally it does seem like the snare would be in an extremely akward position, also, it seems you would almost have to turn your whole torso to do any fast two hand rhythms on it (rolls, fast 16th note fills) and that's not the best set up to do. And about the balls comment, hehehe i bet it would "uncomfortable" x10.

youd have to be strapped down to play like that cuz you wouldnt be able to keep your balance.

So you asked ol MP already eh? Well i have acually played like this before when i started out drumming. I thought that was how it was done on one bass drum
but yea i got 2 cheap pedals but instead of hooking them both to the bass drum i got a plank of wood and laid it under the bass drum and fastened them both to that, basicly the same thing. Didnt work to great was fun for about 5 minutes though.

im not gona play like this forever cause i do like a snare between my legs and cannot accomplish that by this setup i think it will help when i finaly get a good snare and use an aux snare but i will get some pic as soon as i can
