what do u guys think would be a good second bass for a kid whos been playing for about 7 months.

-What bass do you have now?
-What kind(s) of music do you play?
-What is your price range?
-What are you exactly looking for? Like, any specific brands/options/tones you want? For example, if you have a 4 string Precision Bass, maybe you want a 5 string bass of some sort, or a fretless? Tonal diversity is key.
Also, being good has nothing to do with it, really. :p

can't really say myself, i'm still on my first bass i've been playing about the same amount of time as you. Just outa curiosity for comparison, how good are you? (ex, hard songs you can play)

not really?... i play a 5'er... got mine for $225-ish... not the BEST but i absolutly love it..

2.i want to start playing more slap pop

look into some ibanez basses such as the sr 305 or sr 205

first of id like to say that the 205 is way out of my price range. But i think the 305 would work pretty well for me even though its a little under my price but i guess thats ok

the dean edge is a fairly nice bass for the price or maybe some yammahas or even ltd's

Almost anything will be a big step up from a starter-pack squier. There are several decent 5er's in that price range. Yamaha RBX375, Ibanez SR305, etc.

look on ebay also...you find some good deals there
