I started trying to use a pick for my punk band, and generally to just know hot to use one. I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.
This is what I do. I anchor my forearm on the top of the body and use a wrist motion to go "around" to make the pick go up and down on the strings. Is this correct? if so, any little special techniques or tips for picking? thanks::thumb:

to be truly "punk" make all of them downstrokes to give a more driving feel, unless its really fast then to alternate picking or whatever

For punk i use my full arm, pulling it up and down, unless im playing something fiddaly, i find its better for speed. Helps if your bass isnt low, but not realy low.

He's on MSN quite a bit, maybe he has a life?
Either way, when he's not away sometime I'll ask.

I like the guide to picking, thought I have to point out that a) Phoenix uses both a pick and his fingers and b) he is infinitely better than Hoppus, and actually does add a lot to the music.

A life? I wish...we mods have no times for lives.
I'm insanely busy as is, as we all know, and modding is my excuse to be on MX as much as possible. :)
I'm amazed I can balance my life out and STILL have time to be on here.

Wait, you balance your life outside of MX? I've got 3 assignments due in a couple hours, I haven't started... But it appears JoZ is at work. I guess that counts as life.
