You see the circled bit? what's that called, I need to get mine replaced as a chunk of it snapped off while fitting some new strings on my bass (it came with roundwounds and I hear they don't do the fretboard much good, so I buy some new strings and they break my bass:upset: ).
Also are elites good strings, they were the only flatwounds the shop had?

It was made of plastic, so obviously it wasn't the strongest one out there, I shouldn't expect more for a £200 bass though, I'll see what ones they have when I go to get it fixed later this week.

Thanks for the help btw.

http://www.jhs.co.uk ... and go to guitar parts... you should be able to pick up an identical, ready made nut for your particular bass (vintage basses all use the same set of parts pretty much)

and elites are decent strings for the price... there pretty well made and sound decent enough. I reccomend using the player series (nickle) over the stainless steel stadium series though... the stadium series dont seem to play so well as slightly more expensive steel strings

or that would work fine... and for a £200 bass its only really worth replacing if you do it yourself..... a shop would charge way too much
