Im totally obsessed with this band nowadays their music is so full and mysterious is a totally fullfilling experience to hear them i would die to be in one of their shows. imagine they have painters with canvas on stage to paint what they feel as they listen to the music played by the band thats jus AMAZING wow. in conclusion i just think this is a very understimated band with huge amount of talent hopefully many of you have listened them post any opinions:

I love all the releases of theirs I have.

I have Rain on a burnt CD, and Walls and Your Tears Are Warning Signs on CD. Very good band, and I am very pissed off that they postponed their Aussie tour.

I saw them 2 nights ago, it's cool that they are based only an hour away from me :p. The singer and cellist make a lot of jokes, but the singer often puts himself down on stage as well, kind of strange. He uses these electric toy swords on his guitar to make some trippy effects. I was standing right behind one of the painters, who were set up on the front barrier (not too many people were there so it was safe enough for them).

Favourite songs: Dead Children/Dead Adults (when they play it live and combine them), The Revolution Is Never Coming, The Streets Fell Into My Window

Incredible band, I love how they incorporate violins to their music. Walls has become one of the most played albums lately :D

^ When I get home next week I will try and upload it for you. I will however, be on 56k so I make no promises.

I'm bumping this thread because these guys are awesome, and they should be given a little more recognition around here. I've recently uploaded two of their releases in The Daily Upload, so people should have heard of them.

As mentioned above, the live shows are incredible. I was inpressed when I first saw them at an instore, and they hard hardly any of their little props and things around the place. They take a very relaxed approach to things, and interact with the crowd like no other band I've seen. Give these pictures (http://www.theredpaintings.com/v2/aliceparty.htm) a look. It's from one of their special themed shows I saw. It was a totally different, yet amazing experience. They even paused a song half way through and gave away a meat tray! :amaze:

And in news, Trash stated in his online Journal recently that Destroy The Robots, Dead Children and The Revolution Is Never Coming are the three tracks he feels should be recorded for the next release. The band will also be doing far less live shows until late '06 by the sounds of things.

Don't forget the cello! Cello > violin.

That said, I really like this band, except for the vocals. Not a huge fan of the vocals.

The first time I whored these guys out, the vocals were what most people said were the downfall. Pretentious was the word used I think. I think they are actually quite good though, they really fit the mood of the music.

I have one album. I really like their style, I wish it was done more.

It really reminds me of art...I guess cause it is

I've had one of their albums (I don't think it is a full one, was one I downloaded from a YSI link, like a taster collection of songs) for a while, and only recently started to realise how awesome it is.

Dead Adults is probably my favourite song, when it kicks in, especially after such a beautiful quiet section, it's like :thumb:
