Is it possible to play n.harmonics on every fret?

If not, what frets are there which are not in the normal range* (12, 9, 7, 5)

*I realized, horrible phrasing, that = what frets (no matter how hard), are nharmonics possible to be played on?

You get can a harmonic on basically any fret if I'm correct. It mostly depends on your technique.

Isn't that pinched harmnoics?

I'm talking about natural harmonics

I'm pretty sure using the right technique you can get a natural harmonic on any fret.

Yeah, I think Lucr3tia is on the ball.

Not all frets can have the natural harmonic sound. I'm not sure about something like 2.5 or 17.5 etc. I have to study my fretboard some more.

Technically you can get natural harmonics all along the string but most of them will sound really bad. The good one's are where the string is split into two parts that have lengths that are whole number multiples of each other.

Eg. At the 12th fret, you are splitting the string into two equally lengthed parts giving you a really good harmonic. At the 24th fret you split the string in a 3:1 ratio, giving you another really good harmonic. Other frets include:

7th fret: 3:2 ratio (I think)
5th fret 3:1 ratio (I think)
3rd fret (no idea)
~2.7th fret 7:1 (I think)

5th is 4:1 because it is 2 octaves above open...
5, 4, and 3 are all strong and can sound cool together (check out Van Halen's Poundcake)
above that you just need alot of distortion, just keep getting closer to the nut for higher and higher pitched harmonics
I find that harmonics ring clearer if the are in their closest possible location to your nut; the one at 4 is the same as at 9; I try to use closer ones unless it would cause fingering problems.
