hi there,

im not a beginner on guitar, however i didnt know where else to post this! I spent the first 2 - 3 years playing guitar incorrectly. Thinking that heavy rock / metal was "aggressive", i played like that too, and it wasnt until a few months ago (after buying 'speed mechanics for lead guitar' by troy stetina) that i discovered that very little tension should be used throughout your playing. Whilst trying to alleviate my problem with this, i have also noticed another problem - my hands go insanely cold (ice cold) when playing guitar or on the computer etc.. i have been to my gp twice about the tension problems and each time they have given me a blood pressure test and assured me that everything seems fine. obviously it is not, since my hands (even now) are as cold as ice. any help from anyone (preferably who knows about this / overcame this problem) would be very much appreciated!

thanks

Happy

You could try massaging them to get the bloodflow back to them and warm them up.

Sounds like a circulation problem, id go see a doctor who specializes in it.

ands arent always cold but when they are,I try massaging them.If you have rock discipline you could check it out in the warmup section or just download it via p2p.

P.S.-Speed Mechanics is killer!!

I have a similar kinda problem, my hands are almost always really cold unless I've had them on a radiator or something. Unless you find it uncomfortable, its nothing to worry about. As your hands are on an extemity of your body (ie not in the main internal region) they are naturally cooler and loose heat much faster than most of the rest of your body. Feet are similar to this, but also ears, nose etc.

If it is bothering you, try see a specialist as it has already been suggested.

Good luck :)

Yeah, my house is ****ing freezing, espescially down here on the computer. You just need to warm up loads, that's partly the purpose of it. Try doing hand exercises on the table whilst you're idle.

True. Just drumming your fingers on the table for about 5 minutes helps.
