One, is it possible to play my bass through my guitar multi-effects pedal without breaking anything? It's a Zoom 606, for those wondering.

And two, if I got a 4x10 bass cab, if I get a guitar head, could I play my guitar through the guitar head and bass cab? I'm fairly sure I know the answer, I'd just like to make sure. My dad was hinting at possibly getting me a cab for Christmas.

Sorry for the noob-ish questions.

I've played my bass through my guitarist's pedals. Most of them played just fine, but some of them just gave off a horribly loud screech when I turned them on.

So most likely it should play, if not, the worst (I ever got) was the horrible screech.

I always play trough guitar effects (i got them for free so it what i use) nothin is effected except tonality...

And yes some people will only play trough guitar heads...but tonality will be effected grately...
or are you asking about a regular guitar(not bass)
in that case definatly some guitarists will ONLY play through bass cabs

Yes, you can run it through a guitar pedal.
With most analog effects you will lose low end, but this is rarely the case with digital. Sound quality is another matter.

As far as the amp goes, you may not get the full expression of low end from your bass, and you may not get optimal guitar tone, but it will work and has been done both ways before, sometimes with great success.

The guys from Kyuss were known to run through Ampeg heads, all bass amps, back in the day.

A bass 4x10 oughta sound great with a guitar head, especially if you drop tune, or like a fat, heavy tone.
