View Full Version : A Fair Judgement
Hi ,
i was wondering is someone has tabs of this Opeth song.
I was listening to it and i really really like this.
I figured it out pretty much but i cant seem to get the ghost notes rite and the guitar pro file i have isn't accurate. So if anyone could help me out? that would be cool.
thnx

Sorry can't help with a tab - but if it's any consolation I'm also obsessed with that track at the moment, and like you, I've worked it out for myself with a bit of help from my teacher.
Some of the fills are really tricky and subtle - very jazzy.
Yep indeed very jazzy and soooo groovy =)
basic pattern would be like
T|--|3|--|3||
R|XXXXXXXX|
S|-----0----|
B|0---------|
( i'm bad at tabbing out stuff but this would be the basic idea i guess)
But i can't get any further then this for the moment =/

Hmm...off hand, I remember the basic groove going somewhat like this:
**|1-2-3-4-5-6-|
Rd|X-XxX-X-XxX-|
Sd|------o-----|
Bd|o----o-----o|
As far as the ghost note work....Martin is most likely improvising, influenced partially by jazz comping styles, and as such if you really want to capture the feel of the song, you'd probably want to do the same as well. The best way of describing it that I can think of would be filling in the gaps that are left in the groove while trying not to repeat the same phrase twice in a row.
Well thats my problem :
i can't groove on jazz patterns , cuz it just doesn't seem to find. Any help on this?
