How do you play the intro to Weather Report's Birdland? The tab on MX is kinda hard to understand, especially the intro.

for the pinch harmonic (this kind of depends on what bass you have, since my finger placement and such may not mach yours)
find the octave over the pickups, or around them, the one thats not on the finger board. Now, your going to lay your mid thumb on the string your using, and than pop the string with your middle or index finger. When you pop, move the thumb off the string a little bit after when you pop. If your thumb placement matches the octave of the note your fretting, it will come out good. Match it up with the tabs, and youll be moving your thumb slightly to match the notes.

Good descriptions, but they're only half-right. The first time, you play the melody an octave higher than the fretted notes, but on the repeat you play it two octaves higher.
