open handed playing

the past couple days i have been forcing myself to play open handed. at first it was frustrating as hell, but it has been paying off. my left hand has been getting a really good workout. my rolls and things like that seem more even now. what im trying to say is that open handed playing is a wise thing to learn if you started w/ closed like me. discuss how much more superior it is to closed.:thumb:

Well, not to be rude, but there are ALOT of threads on this topic. Do a search, this thread has been done many many many times before.

Ken's right, but threads come and threads go. I don't expect to get on and see a page of never before seen threads with rather interesting topics...just the whole, what DBpedal should I buy or show me pictures of your kits etc. etc. etc. as always. I guess you just have to get used to it. Either way, open handed playing is useful and is a good skill. Personally, I plan on switching my kit around completely and playing lefty to work on my left hand/foot abilities, which in turn, will help my overall playing ability enormously and I guess allow me to play many more patterns open handed.
