View Full Version : Christmas Day thread??

With Christmas coming up, one has to wonder how many new gear threads this forum will get on Christmas day or around there. What if a mod stickied a thread for showing off your x-mas presents in the gear and media corner?? I don't know if this has been done in past years because this will be my first x-mas on here. If this has already been discussed just disregard this thread...:thumb:

Ahhh, i love Christmas time at MX.
All the new gear everyone gets...... ooooh.
A Sticky'd thread would rock.

Can I make the "Christmas List" thread this year?
Half Life

I don't think it'd actually need to be stickied just because of that fact it would get constantly posted in and it would always be on the first page...just like the Drum Stronghold thread. That things been around for AGES

i probably wont get anything drum related for Christmas this year.
i'm going to ask my parents to set as much money as they willingly can aside this Christmas for me, then set some more aside for my birthday and then more next Christmas.
that way with all the money they set aside plus all the money i get from working this summer (which wont be much), i may finally be able to afford to upgrade my actual drums.

i've had a yamaha beech absolute in mind, but haven't made a final decission. i've still got about two years to decide. i'm a patient guy.
it all depends on wether or not my parents will put money aside rather than buying me Christmas presents for the next two years.
on another note, i'm up to three splashes. you may still be king of splashes, but i'm catching up.

technically it's four but i only use three because i got two of the same one, companies mistake. i'll be selling the second one.
anyways they're nothing special:
10" Avedis, 10" paragon (that's the one i have two of), and a 8" paragon.
the paragon splashes aren't bad, but they don't beat the Avedis. i may sell the paragons later on. i only got them because i wanted the 19" paragon china. i found a good deal on ebay on the effects pack and figured i'd try out the splashes.

if i can save up enough by christmas time, i'll get my parents to pitch in whatever money they'd spend on presents, into new drums for me. i should have enough saved by then, i may possibly be able to save up enough before christmas, then i'd be getting an mp3 player and a few splashes and whatnot, since i have zero effect cymbals.

11-15-2005, 11:40 PM
For sure man, splashes are what you want! You have to get at least a couple if not more :thumb:
Win A Rabbit
11-15-2005, 11:43 PM
i'd want atleast 2 right beside/above my hats, one between my hats and my high tom, and 2 or 3 above my ride. that'd be ideal for me, even though i don't think i could find use for all of them. it's be fun to play around with though. i want to get me some chinas too, since i love the sound of a big trashy china. and after christmas, i'll have to go hi-hat shopping. i'm pretty set on some groove hats, but i'll give the others one more chance to persuade me.

Ah I'm thinking about Christmas and I might just ask for money. I am completely broke right now. (seriously, I'm not sure how I'm going to buy food to eat in a few weeks) But if I don't ask for money it's gonna be all drum stuff. Maybe a new crash if I'm feelin' lucky, probably a clamp for my extra tom so I can get the setup I want going, oooh or maybe an Iron Cobra. That would be fricken' awesome.

10" 12" and 14" Coated Ambs and Clear Ambs for toms
14" Cs Dot for snare, almost picked out an emporer with a dot on, wasn't on emporer X though, weird. 14" Amb hazy ss for reso
22" Emad for bass drum, reduced from 110 to 59.
all together came to about 230 or so, good buys considering i'm in australia and heads like everything else are ****ing expensive.

*to playwihtfire* yeah the funn yhting is that Australia's only real drum company, Brady, is like **** expensive.
Theflame put me onto a good ebay store, they only relaly stock cymbals though but I'll probably be buying my next china from them. Nothign beats trying it out in person though, even if you do try the same model out you may not get the same cymbal unless your dealing with a company like Paiste.

While it the XBOX is slightly technically better than the PS2, the PS2 owns. And if you mean technical specs the XBOX 360 doesn't deserve the crumbs off the PS3's table. Not to mention that they both cost the same, yet the PS3 is technically better, and looks a heck of a lot cooler.

I disagree about major flaws. The only major flaw is that not everyone bought one and it lacked a fair bit of third party support. The gamecube controller is the best thing I've ever layed hands on, everything just works perfectly (except on my 2nd controller which is buggered.).

Nintendo rocks. I love the Gamecube. Lots of (idiots) think its only stupid kid games.
^Indeed :thumb: Nintendo = teh win
I wanted to get one of the new consoles, but to really get the most out of them you'd need an HD tv and a broadband connection(neither of which do I have)to really experience all they have to offer because online gaming is huge and the implementation of HD in gaming is going to happen real quick. Oh and for all of you guys that think Nintendo sucks, two words....backwards compatiblity  Of all the new consoles, Nintendo's Revolution will be pooing all over the Xbox 360 and PS3 with it's 20 or so odd years of downloadable game content from the past.
i miss my gamecube. i sold it for drums. LOL. wait..:upset:
Yeah, me too. I sold my Gamecube and my N64 on eBay, for about £150 each.

Yeah. It might. If it weren't for that hideous, vile thing they call a controller. Its one handed, and looks like a tv remote!

I'm asking for an audix mix package with an added beta 52 kick mix, with associated stands. I dunno if I'll get it though. :) Also I want a new 16 track mixer with a usb out. Also, I'd like new heads and maybe a 19" K Medium Thin Crash. Also, I'd like a set of timbales, and a couple of Horacio Hernandez's cowbells. Ok well, this is more for the whole year.
