View Full Version : bongos and congas
I'm just wondering whats a good conga and bongo set.
Are the meinl headliners any good? Or should I go with LP Aspires or Matadors?
At my store they have a set of 10" and 12" headliners for about $310 with a stand, a bongo add-on clamp for 75 and the bongos for 90.
Help very much appreciated
Thanks
The LP Matador is a top end range of conga. Id recommend the Aspire line - good sound, reasonably priced.
Having said that, Meinl is really pushing hard into the market that LP has dominated for a long time. If you feel the price is good for the Meinl I say go for it.

I play Pearl Primero congas, but I don't know if they are good :(
EDIT: From memory, they don't look too great because you can see the thick trails of glue where the staves line up.
Thanks a lot
I'm looking forward to adding the congas and bongos to my set
ultimate sexiness!!

I'm looking around for congas too...
My local store has a LP conga/bongo set for AU$650. Very tempting, but its probably too much for a beginner - all I really want to start with is a single conga.
