I have an serious, honest question to ask...hopefully the thread won't get closed. So, at the hardcore shows around here everyone dances, i don't have a problem with it. Now when the tempo of the song speeds up, and becomes like a stereotypical punk rock beat (i'm mainly talking about the drums) every one just stops...they don't mosh or anything. I find it kind of a downer, because i love moshing and a fast paced song always feels like it's overflowing with energy to me.
Can anyone give a real reason for this? Do the kids just not like mosh pits...

it's not just your scene, i think it's because it takes too much energy for these people to dance and mosh all night and once a really fast beat comes on everyone's too beat to go that fast. or maybe they're all idiots i don't know.

The crowd was dull and boring, so me and these two shirtless mohawk'd guys decided to start an old fashion mosh pit to liven things up. Needless to say, all the A7X kids got into as well as some of the pop-punkers.

That shouldn't be allowed to bear the title circle pit.
I love a good pit, but to be honest I have no problem with people at shows. If you want to watch, stand with the people who are watching. If you want to dance, dance with the people who are dancing. I like to do both, just depends on my mood.
The only time I get irritated is where you get a big angry bloke piling in and just trying to control the situation. Pits should not be controlled by anyone; if you just go with the flow you'll be fine and everyone can get along.
Oh, and I get irratated when some dick trys to mosh among the people who are skanking, or among the people who want to stand and watch. Me and my friends just stomp on them if they keep doing it :)
