If you like Explosions In The Sky, Mogwai and Sigur Ros it's safe to say you'll like Mono too. They are a postrock band from Japan. They have released a new album this year...I saw them recently, and it was pretty great.

I have Under The Pipal Tree but I have still yet to listen to it thoroughly.
edit: I have Walking Cloud too, which I have to give some thorough listens also.

I have Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky... and it is good, although I havent really given it a real, proper listen. I could have seen them in Chicago a few months ago, but I had other plans and didnt feel like travelling 3 hours. I wish I would have now, though.

I like Mogwai, but dislike EitS and Sigur Ros. What opinion should I have on these guys?

I think they bear the most resemblance to Godspeed (without the interludes of field recordings).

You'd probably like them more than EITS and Sigur Ros but less than Mogwai. Have a listen to them.
I love Walking Cloud, it's the only one of their's I have.

An update:
I decided to re-visit and listen to Walking Cloud one evening and it was amazing. I was doing some stream of conciousness writing at the time and it was just really beautiful and emotional and ahh... I didnt remember it being that good.

They're playing at a venue near me soon, and i know a couple of people going. I've never heard anything by them, though. I'm gonna go anyway, i think - I miight try and get an album on soulseek. Hmm, I havn't listened to any post rock for quite a while, except Dirty Three.
Sounds like Walking Cloud is the album to get. I'll look into it.

Walking Cloud and Deep Red Sky... is a good album, the closer especially. I wish I had seen them a few months back when they played at the Black Cat.

I like them alot. Under The Pipal Tree has to be my favoirte by them. I saw them live once, and I can assure you they put on a better live show than Mogwai.

Mogwai's one of the worse "post-rock" bands of them all.
I'll check out Mono later.
