I just saw this the other day and I can easily say that this was the best animation I have ever seen. It was in japanese but it had english subtitles so it was a pain in the *** to watch sometimes but its still really good. Any one else has seen this post your thoughts...

and I was wondering if anyone one knows the release date for the U.S.

I havent seen it but my friend has been really looking forward to seeing it. It does look rather impressive. You saw it on the internet or pirate amirite?

Such a great film. I saw the Jap version too. It was still killer though. The animation is unreal.

Meh it was too much fighting and too little story.
Also the persons looked kinda lifeless.
Still a great movie tho'.

I saw it a few weeks back, it was a downloaded copy with english subtitles, it was everything any final fantasy 7 fan could hope for and more

The Copy I have is 1:41.01 Direct rip from the japanese DVD

Not that short, but still too short for a movie of this standard

Definately the best animated movie i have ever seen..
I was creaming my pants at all of the fight scenes(especially the motorcycle ones)

The coolest bit was in the Forest of the Ancient when Vincent saves Cloud, then he stands there being all aloof and serious and cold. Vincent = best FF character ever.

i bet you people who had to read the subtitles thought 'WTF????' when 'zuru zuru zuru zuru...' came up on the screen

the movie was good. just a bit short, and too battle-based. but still good. although Marlene had the most annoying voice ever.

They should redo the whole Final Fantasy 7 movie, separated in 4 parts. Like lord of the rings, but in animation with one extra part.

but of course, it won't happen.

Auron and Squall were cool. I like the dark, moody and mysterious characters.

Vincent > Auron > Squall

Although I always liked the Turks. They were just plain cool. Especially in Advent Children.

Yeah that was very cool, the Bahamut fight was probably my favourite part, also Reno and Rude are great :lol:

Love it when Reno whacks Rude in face. And when they run away from Bahamut, and Reno asks Rude if it's following them, and Rude says "I don't know, I don't want to turn around" :lol:

yea, the Turks actually played a semi-big role inthe movie, at least alot bigger than i thought. I thought they were just going to be thrown in there like Cid, Barret, and the likes were.

In a word? Meh.

The animation and fighting were cool I guess, but it was really repetitive and lacking in coherency of any sort.

I liked it, it was a bit confusing the first time I watched it.

I was disappointed that the rest of the FFVII crew were only in it for like 10 minutes.

I saw it two days ago on my friend's laptop. This movie (the Japanese version) is sick!!!! Seriously, I loved it, and I'm not a fan of Final Fantasy - never got into it. Tifa was mad hot, amirite?

"To those who loved this world
and have spent time together with their companions in this world in the past:

It's strictly just for the fans, you had to know the backstory of the game to understand the movie

It was great, however, I don't think that Lance Bass can make a convincing Sephiroth.

Since I watch so many foreign movies the subtitles don't bother me, I read fast and can watch the scenes. I'll snoop around for a Japanese version.

I saw it the day after it was on the internet, and I have watched it at least 10 times total.

Amazing movie when it comes to the animation, just beautiful. But they needed to make it a bit longer and work into some more detail about the story line and such and explain things better, that's the only flaw I can think of about the movie.

the DVD on play-asia is like 50 dollars...wonder when it will be out in America.

Red XIII is cool but the best party IMO is Cloud, Cid, Tifa (Barett comes in at fourth) I like Vincent's charcter but his limit break...I hate it...

Anyway, advent children is awesome, I heard the North AMerican release date was January 06' but I'm not 100% on that. The animation is nothing short of amazing and while the story was a bit lacking is was overall not bad. Vincents intro was so badass I can't even explain. I will buy this when it gets released here. and if I don't like the voice overs I have no problem switching to Japanese w/ english sub titles (hopefully this will be an option).

I got a fan sub of the jap vertion. Pretty enjoyable, I'm probs going to import the American DVD because I can't be bothered waiting till February to see it in English.

my prefered party would be cloud, red XIII and cat sith. cat for the spells.
though i cant really comment on later in the game, my ff crashed when the weapons came out

Saw it a couple of months ago. It was good but......I don't know - TOO MUCH FIGHTING! It was impressive, but just totally over the top. It reminded me of the Matrix: Reloaded. Just a whole lotta guys beating eachother up, taking a break every few moments to progress the story that little further. The other characters cameos kind of annoyed me also, it needed to be more of an ensemble like the game.

That said, I did actually enjoy it when I turned my brain off to an extent. The humorous in-jokes were also funny (end-battle ring tone) but a little self indulgent. Nice, though. I guess I'm still waiting for that killer Final Fantasy movie...

The Thai version is region free, and has subtitles in Japanese language.

If the US version doesn't come out at the end of this month (Amazon says 1/10/06) I'll buy the Thai version.

I don't know what you're talking about, although her limit break isn't fixed it easily does more damage than Yuffie's, or Red XIII and most of cait siths (minus the instant death) I wont mention Vincent, I don't use him, limit break sucks and she takes a beating just as well as anyone else in my party.

Meh, I can comment on on limit breaks but, once you get so far in the game your materia is so good that you rarely use them because the enemy rarely touches you.

well, at the start her first 2 limit breaks are based on some jackpot system. if you hit it right then its cool but not then other guys hit better.

tifa is not much of a tank character, barret and red XIII fair better.
