Hitman Contracts is one of my favourite ever games. You follow a Hitman called Agent 47. The game carrys on from Hitman 2 : Silent Assassin and Hitman : Codename 47. The game involves the genetically engineered assassin going through flash backs which can prove confusing to people who buy Contracts first which is what I did. However this wasnt a bad move perticularly as the game is still amazing even if it may be slightly hard to get a grip of the story line, I personally found it easy to understand once the game got in.

The game; for those who have played Hitman 2, has not changed immensly. The graphics arent far off and same with detail.

One of the main things I enjoy about the game is the option of either going in guns blazing killing everyone or being as stealthy as possible. Obviously you dont get as good a ranking at the end but its an option. If you do get the top ranking (Silent Assassin) then you get a dual weapon depending on the level.

The way to get Silent Assassin is to kill only the people you need to. Use no more than the required amount of bullets e.g. if there are two people to assassinate then only use two bullets. This can prove difficult but the reward is in my opinion worth it.

Missions

They is a wide range of weapons, locations and all round detail in the game. My personal favourite level is one in which you have to assassinate a man in a pool. The way you do this is to sneak up to him while he is relaxing and strangle him with fibre wire to make it look like he drowned. You can also wait until he strolls into the sauna, lock him in and turn it up so much that it kills him.

You then have to kill a man in a shower in his room which is guarded by a man outside his door and a man that patrols in his room and on the balcony.
The way I go about killing him is knock out a bellboy and take some towels to the mans room. The guards permit you through and give him the towels for a short space of time. You sneak into the bathroom and shot him the exit in a swift and smooth manner.


Another one of my favourite levels is named "Beldingford Manor". In this mission there are 2 people to assassinate and one person to release who is being held captive. You start at the edge of the lake nest to the house and have to make your way through the garden to the front of the house avoiding the guards. I go through the maze and drop down a secret door into the basement. You can then grab a petrol can and take this upstairs to the attic. There is an opening to the chimney which leads to the fire place next to one of the guys you have to assassinate. By throwing the petrol can down KAAABOOOOMMM!!!. The man dies along with some guards around him and exploding part of the house. Now this may seem not very stealthy to some as its a very loud approach to killing one of the men but it counts as being stealthy. You can then go downstairs and turn off the heating so a women that is in the shower who is blocking your way to the other man to assassinate moves. You then pass through the bathroom and through the secret door behind the window.


You sneak up to the man asleep and smother him with a pillow and his wife is nonthewiser.

Great Features
Other people around Agent 47 are very impressive. Their AI is almost outstanding in my opinion. Civilians are very noticible and very weary when they detects bad things from you and run and warn others about your presence if you bring out a gun for instance.

The weapons are very nice. Unfortunately one a few silenced weapons. Most of them being the ones you have to unlock by getting the bets ranking on the levels. There are lots of pistols including Magnums, Golden Eagles and a range of general pistols. Many different machine guns including AK74's and a Miniguns which takes my fancy.

I like being able to take certain peoples clothes and disguising yourself.

I also enjoy the game having "Ragdoll Physics". For those of you who dont know what it is. It basically makes the peoples bodies floppy so you can drag them around and they are very loose. Basically takes the literal meaning like a ragdoll. When you go blazzing in with a Minigun the bodies go flying which is highly amusing.

Pros:
Great interaction with environment. Great selection of weapons. Realy makes you think how to do it professionally. Missions are fun and ranged.

Cons:
Your cover is 'blown' very easily and almost randomly sometimes which does get very irritating. For fans of Hitman 2 there isnt a great deal of change.

I've always wanted to play the Hitman series and I just got Hitman 2 and Hitman Contracts off ebay a few days ago. So from your post I'm thinking I play Silent Assassain first?

The Hitman series is my favorite series in all of gaming. I have all 3, Hitman 2: Silent Assasin being my favorite of the 3, though Contracts is fairly close behind. I just enjoy the higher level of missions in Hitman 2, as Contracts only has 11 missions if I remember correctly. Although, Beldinford Mannor (Spelling?) could very well be my favorite mission of all the games, along with the Russia based mission in Silent Assasin.

I'm looking forward to Blood Money, and hopefully we'll see a fifth installment of the series for the next gen consoles.

YES!!! Thank you, Thief is THE best stealth game ever, everyone I speak to seems to think Hitman or Metal Gear is better.

Hitman is just an all around awesome concept, though some of the missions are very tough.

I especially liked Mission 5 on Hitman 2, where you went to the fancy dress ball.

I like this because you can sneak a helluva lot faster than in Silent Assassin.
