How is the Punk Forum Doing/Suggestions for a Better Forum PART 2

I made threads like these back when I first became a mod to get the opinion of the users on how forum is going and what could be done to make it better. Before it was 2 seperate threads, but this time I combined them.

Basically vote on the poll. On a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the highest, one being the lowest) rate how the forum is doing. This includes the work of the mods, the quality of the threads, the quality of the users, and how enjoyable the forum is. I also ask that you post your opinion after you vote to get an in depth few of how the users are thinking.

Second part. I want your suggestions. What could be done to make the forum better? What kinds of threads would you like to see? How can the mods improve? How do you suggest we make the forum (even more) better then it is now.

The forums have gotten alot better than what it was a couple of months ago. The users are also better and the discussions are too. I think alot of the users that would just pay people out and have to pick fights with everyone are gone e.g Brothel Creeper gave me the sh'its.

Everyone in the forums real cool, but theres always them occasional a-hole's who start things. I dont really know what would make the forum better. Maybe more news about bands....

I think every now and again we should be allowed to just spam the **** out of a thread, especially if it's one that's going to be closed anyway.

So you want to let spam threads stay for like a half a day to a day? I'll think about it. If they are like Peter's little celebration thread, then I'll let them stay a little longer then usual.

The reason I close them fast now is because of impressionable n00bs. They come on, see a spam thread not getting closed and think they can do the same thing and it has the poteintial of getting out of control.

The threads suck, lack content and the general state of punk right now is very boring therefore there isn't a whole lot to talk about. Jabba and Brian are doing fine.

I voted 7. I've been reading this forum for about a year and it's probably at its most boring peak now. My suggestion is a debating thread where before the topic is announced, the for and against team are picked, so that people can discuss issues and stuff not necisarily of their own opinion. Just a thought though.

I think it's been doing very well. There has been really no terrible newb attacks, and Nick you're doing a great job closing bad threads quickly. However, there has been a lack of awesome threads in the past month or so, but that's not really anybodys fault.

I was thinking about making little education paragraphs for the Band List thread rather then a whole seperate thread because too many stickies pisses me off.

If someone wants to host POTM, I give my go ahead to it.

Featured Artist? I've never been a fan of those because I've always felt the punks too lazy to keep it up. And plus now with the amount of band profiles we already have there is very few bands left to do bios on.




I have my own suggestion to the users. More threads like Pete's, Subvert's, Andre's and Eric's (a while back) where they take on a band to recommend, write a short bio and give some recommend songs and do a series of them. These get a lot of people into new bands and generate a lot of discussion, I feel.

Hey, I know I don't post here alot, although I have been floating around these forums for a while, so you guys probably won't take in my ideas but here goes...

Since I have been on these forums I have actually sourced some pretty valuable information and updates on differen things but have noticed a nose dive in the quality of information, and I realise I haven't contributed much but that's why I'm here, and I thought maybe it had something to do with the Hardcore/Emo sub-forum coming out earlier this year and much less people posting in punk...

I voted 8, I enjoy a good debate so the debating thread is a good idea to me. Many bands get alot of threads going, way too many, like the Misfits so we should clean it up and put up threads where this band should only be discussed.

i may be kind of a noob but i can see taht it has gotten kind of boring. i check every day to see if thier is something new but it has been usually pretty bad. if there were some more interesting threads and ideas it would be awesome. even though, the people here are awesome and very inciteful which makes it a way better expereince. i vote 7.
