hey guys, i'm from the guitar forum and my friends and i are starting a band. one wants a bass:

now, i want to give him a good bass that he will be able to use for a good little bit. now i've got one picked out and an amp too, so if you would rate my recommendation and add what other basses you would suggest that would be versatile and good for most all styles.

he picks it up quickly. he has good time, so that won't be a problem for my perfectionism...:D

thanks all,

-Cam

$500 for a 1st bass i like Standard Fender MIM Jazz Bass.

There very versital and when you start you need that versitility to find the tone/sound you like.

I ****ing hate Peavey basses, apart from the Cirrus customs. I'm not a huge fan of Fender either though

He said total, so it probably means bass and and amp.
