OK first thing first a small question - can you raise the neck pickup on rickenbackers, I have no idea, I was just wondering, cheers.
secondly why do so many of you whine on about how warwicks are so good? I spent about 3 hours going through and playing the Warwicks at my local music store and neither the cheap or the expensive ones left any mark on me. They wern't shockingly bad, but then again they really wern't amazing. I also think they're not really that good looking as well. So what do you see in them or in the one you have, it would be interesting to know. And I'm not starting off a slagging match I'm just curious :thumb:

You need to play them through an amp that accentuates the tonal qualities of a Warwick to appreciate it...

A guhuggah head with the gain turned right up and maybe a slap mute pedal somewhere in the mix, through some King Tiger Cabs.
or a Gallien Krueger, it's plain growl with those babies!
Now, one of those rigs does not exist, can you spot the fake?

I always hear people complain about how the Backline 410 has very little low end, so i'd have to say the GK is your fake :thumb:

i love warwicks personally.... though maybe it's just not your bag, like how i really find nothing interesting or great about a Fender...
i dont like the look of ric's but i give props to a great tone...

Thats because its a backline. You have to play the real GK's. Backlines are garbage.

dunno about the rickenbacker..
but the watwicks aren't just popular because they're popular.. they have excellent quility and they're pretty versatile.. if you think it's a shame people are buying then you can without a problem start your own bass factory and try make better basses.. :thumb:
Yes you can raise the neck pickup on a Ric, However the bridge pickup raises much much higher.
I believe alot of people prefare having the bridge high and the neck low..

warwicks are very over rated in my opinion, they make a couple of ok basses (the infinity for example) but the majority of there basses requite a stupid amount of expensive gear (amps and effects) to make them sound any good.

I remember someone once telling me Tanglewoods are just re-branded Warricks.
Made me smile, seeing as I use a Tanglewood Warrior III :p
