Hey you MX junkies... I haven't posted anything lately, mostly lurking and wasting too much time on that piece of **** MYspace place..so.. Here's another piece.. Crits are neat :naughty:

-_-
"The Reminder"

As the wind gnaws through his jacket, he goes to unlock the old front door
The shop opens early,
And so does the reminder
Empty pockets, he steals and eats
No ability to change his circumstance,
He simply allows it to worsen
The drive he once had, now gone
Every now and then he'll pass someone on the sidewalk and recognize parts of himself
But the cure is too expensive
He looks for another way out
And so does the reminder

Wishing he had a place, shelter is only a wish
Shelter from the torrents of everything he makes for himself
And all the dysfunction that his lifestyle contributes
He walks,
So does the reminder.
The cold city frowns at him
He looks away from the gridlock stare, and tries to focus
The day falls into night's reign, the city wakes up
Lights and cameras, the people are blissful
Though the symphony plays loudly, they are unknowing of their soundtrack

Later when the nightlife turns, headlights glare at him as he tramps down an alley
He feels as if he should be able to face such an unspoken opposition
But is held back by doubt, doubt of misread intentions
Every step he takes towards desire, turns over well
Yet he hesitates for a moment,
And so does the reminder
It wins, and he does not

Leaving the towering version of his struggle, he walks along train tracks
Looking ahead he feels that his life is the matching card for that of which he walks
A straight line, all the way to the final station, no stops along the way
Every time he feels like moving off the tracks into new territory,
He begins to feel like that there is no where else to go
He cannot escape, but he tries,
And so does the reminder

He was still on those tracks when I last saw him,
Marching along like he was on the way to his own funeral.
Years later he lays in his coffin, resting, and wondering what became of it all
He wishes that those tracks had taken more turns
But he realizes that the only turns to make were those off the trail.
Many stand over him now,
Watching him sleep,
Only for a moment.
For he is too unlike them now, it is uncomfortable

Maybe the reason those tracks stayed under him was because she was too unlike him
Or he thought she was
It was too uncomfortable,
He wanted it not to matter
But he made it so.
He used to walk along, always feeling a train coming behind him
But whenever he;d turn around, nothing would be there.
That wasn't enough to prove anything in his fickle mind
But he sleeps now.
She does not.
Nor does the reminder.

thanks for the read :thumb:

Hmmm.

To be honest, I think the phonetics of this was really off. Nothing really flowed. I don't like how you say "the reminder" so much. I get what you're trying to do, but I don't like how you're doing it.

If you have the time, http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=10391256#post10391256

That's mine, I'd appreciate it if you crit it. Thanks.
