Adjusting Pickup Height

Okay id like to look into this, how does this affect the sound, and what are the do's and don't's of it

Well if they're too low, obviously there will be very little sound. If they're too high, I think the magnets will mess up the sound.

I took the pickups off to get some dust off, the sound quality is alot better, and ive raised the height a little for a louder song.
