I need to find songs that really utilize the range of a 6 string bass. I'm sure you guys are tired of threads like this, but I need to find this out.

Screw learning band's songs. I can think of nothing more pointless.
Write your own tunes.

I really don't feel like writing anything right now. That's why I'm looking for songs.

In Dance Of Eternity, Myung uses a 6 string bass. Utilizies(sp?) each string pretty good too.

Learn something like Tommy the Cat or Jerry was a Racecar Driver by Primus, utilises all six strings, though as Sade has pointed out in the past, he's a sloppy b*stard. John Patituci (sp?) also uses a six, but I know none of his work, so look it up if you're interested enough. Tune your six like a guitar and learn some guitar riffs. Or leave it and learn some guitar riffs, might make it more interesting!

John P. Good suggestion, tasteful-melodic, and knowledgable. Not so much learning his material would help you, but just getting a wiff of what he does would be pretty fufilling.

Pretty Much Any Song Really, i mean if you have a phrase thats in 4 frets, on one string then another phrase, 4 more frets up, you can just move up a string and play that phrase there.
Extended Range Basses, Only Make it Easier to Play songs, they put more notes under your 4 fingers, with less movement.
One Day I'll buy a 6er... but now im content with m,y 5er and high c

Is John P. a solo artist or does he work in a band? I know nothing of him other than the name and the fact he uses a six sometimes.

He's a solo artist. I'm not aware of any bands he works with, although I'm positive there are a multitude.

Which is why he most likely meant John Petrucci, although he plays guitar.
A good way to utilize all strings is to download some SNES MIDI music and then learn to play the guitar parts while tapping the bass parts. Or just play them separately, it's fun either way.

Yeah, ALOT of stuff by Primus utilizes a Six-String, and it's very funky. Alot of room for awesome fills as well. Definately check out Primus, some songs I'd suggest are:
Mrs. Blaileen
Kalamazoo
Bob
Jerry The Racecar Driver
