So...I was listening to the album Inflammable Material t'other day, and I was thinking "That's gotta be one of the best punk rock albums I've ever heard."

I love how it's just so fast and brutal and unrelenting, especially "Suspect Device." There's gotta be some other SLF fans here.

What do you all think of one of Ireland's greatest contributions to musical society?

They are great! Inflammable Material is one of the greatest albums ever. Every song on that album is awesome. I haven't heard much of their new stuff but I might check it out soon.

I've said it before and I will say it again.

Nobodys Hero is better than Inflammable Material

Ps. Johnny Was is the best song ever

yea. that has some of the best guitar riffs and solos i've ever heard. I also like the slow part in Barbed Wire Love where the backing vocals do the "dum dum dum dum"

Inflammable Material is all i've heard, but man what an album it is. So many good songs. I've heard an interview with Jake Burns where he talks about his influences, how punk affected him etc, and that's awesome.

The cover of Johnny Was is excellent too.

I saw them either last year or the year before that in the summer, and since then, I've only been to one or two concerts that have been close to being as good as Stiff Little Fingers live. And I've been to alot.

Nice, how were they?

It was great. They covered "Doesn't Make It Alright" by The Specials and they ended with Alternative Ulster. A few weeks later I went to a party and some 'punks' said the show sucked.

i have some greatest hits 2 cd thing which is pretty cool. It has quite a few real good songs but let down by some terrible stuff. I have a mixed opinion of this band. The real good songs are some of the best i have ever heard. I will check out 'Inflamable Material'

Every song off Inflammable Material is brilliant, especially Barbed Wire Love and Alternative Ulster. I've also got No Sleep 'Till Belfast, which is a well worth buying live album from the late '80s.

Ummm....i bought Guitar and Drum...it sucks hard. The old stuff of theirs is amazing Law and Order, Alternative Ulster, and that stuffs. Guitar and Drum sounds like new power pop and it makes my ears bleed. I am convinced that they are two different bands.

Just for anyone not familiar with the lingo round these parts

"Hanx!" means "Thanks" but as pronounced in a broad Belfast accent.

Just in case anyone was wondering about that :)

Barbed Wire Love was the first song I heard from SLF. I was dowloading Nobody's Heroes the album the other day and from what I have dowloaded from it, it sounds pretty good. I don't think it could be as good as inflammable Material but not many albums have compared to that brilliant album.

Dave says Nobody's Heroes is a lot better than Inflammable Material. I don't see how it could me, but he's right about most things. I've been meaning to buy that CD for literally months now.

He called Here We Are Nowhere a filler song, i love that song :(

And Inflammable Material is better than Nobody's Heroes but both albums are 2 of the best punk albums ever.
