Ladies and gentlemen of the Sputnikmusic community:
I'm not pleased with how some of you are acting on Sputnikmusic. By acting like a bunch of immature children, you are disrespecting yourself as a member of the community and you are alienating new users from the site by carrying on with your jokes and harassment. These actions and overall attitudes drive visitors away and make newer users feel intimidated.
Just because you have status on Sputnikmusic does not give you the right to be an asshole to people on the site.
Examples:
I know that he's an idiot that... couldn't pull a good review together.
/basically anything he posts as of late
[S]top reviewing.
Who's next on the **** list, Med?
/random flaming, taunting, and name-calling
I'm getting tired of visiting Sputnikmusic and having to tell you guys to act your age and not your shoe size.
There is no place for trolling, shitting in reviews, shitting on reviewers (particularly newer users), or flaming an excessive amount.
By acting like this, you're disgracing yourself and the site. Drop the domineering attitude and be constructive with your criticisms. Do not flame people to an extraordinary degree. Do not insult people who are trying their best.
BE MORE RECEPTIVE TO NEWER USERS. They are trying their best to write reviews and fit in with the community. You're making it a hell of a lot harder for them by being assholes to them; as a result, they'll stop visiting and leave. THIS WILL NOT MAKE THEM BETTER WRITERS.
My first reviews in the old CD Reviews archive sucked. Your first reviews also sucked, and some of your reviews still suck. Same here.
So please, can we act a little more mature on Sputnikmusic? It is not unreasonable to ask this.
Stick to the discussion at hand: the album and/or the review.
Do not make bets on who's going to get banned. Do not ask who's going to get banned. Do not get your kicks by trashing people. Do not name-call.
These are not hard concepts to grasp. Stop posting like idiots. No one is above the rules.
Please, be a bit more considerate and a lot less sophomoric on the site. Whether or not you care about your reputation is beyond me, but I'm getting tired of seeing people act like douchebags there.
Cordially,
Jom

PS/In addition:
Another thing I want to address is people bitching about how there are too many reviews of an album.
"Awwww jeez, this is the seventh review, we don't need anymore!"
You do not need to post this. You do not need to bitch at the reviewer. One of the big aims with Sputnikmusic was the capacity to have multiple reviews of an album that are separate from one another.
Under the old forum, reviews were merged into a single thread. It made for some confusion and, while Bartender and others did their best keeping everything in order (Bartender especially did a great job), it was still unfortunate to have reviews merged into one thread.
So, be thankful for that. Do not whine about how there are too many reviews of a certain album. It does nothing, and it makes you look silly. Stop it.
Read this post (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10357773&postcount=449). This further clarifies how peoples' piss-poor attitudes can drive people away from the site. There are no excuses for this kind of behavior.
