View Full Version : Pop-Punk Awards 2005: Best Album, Group C

Kif

Coheed and Cambria - Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness
Thrice Vhiessu
Propagandhi - Potemkin City Limits
A Wilhelm Scream - Ruiner
Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out

The "Best Album" award has been split into 3 groups because of the inequal amount of nominations. 2 of the groups are just standard nominations, and the final group is made up of albums with more than one nomination. If this seems a little unfair, I'm sorry, but it's the fairest way I could see to do it.

To make it a little bit fairer, the top 2 albums of the first 2 groups (With one nomination) will go through to the final, whereas the top album of the final group (With more than one nomination) will go through to the final.

So here's the first poll of 3. They will all close in 4 days, then the final will last 3 days.

Oh god I hope C&C don't win.

Thrice ++

GA got more nominations than Thrice, so technically it should.

But then again, there are 4 other albums up there.

This will be tough. I need to give Vheissu a couple more spins before I can vote.

The new Thrice, Propagandhi and Wilhelm Scream are all excellent albums, but I'll go with Propagandhi.

Pete

Unfair poll.

I vote for aWS, because lots of people will vote Propagandhi anyway (if everything's right in this world).

Both the Thrice and Co&Ca ones were kinda disappointing to me, even though they were good.

EDIT: Hah, that makes one vote for each album. For now, anyway.

I think AWS is out of this one.

Coheed easily.

Dead Star

I don't think Propagandhi will get a lot of votes, people here are all sucking Thrice and Coheed...

P!ATD for me.

Don't really get this voting system though, sureley you want albums with more nominations to go through as they are higher in demand...

Excursions

Don't like any of them but I will see how it pans out and vote for the one with the least amount of votes. Same with the other poll other than the one with Brian Eno because he wins easily.

So, to make sure I'm clear on this...4 albums that were nominated once move on...and only one with multiple nominations does?

I shouldve nominated 'Frances the Mute'.

Because I don't listen to Coheed and Panic! is overrated.
(And Vhiessu sort of surprised me by its goodness)

Puma
11-08-2005, 03:41 PM
Coheed. I don't think I've ever listened to an album as much as I've listened to that one. But it was a toughy, spare Panic! I like all of those albums.

Yes, I really think that people who don't like A Wilhelm Scream are intellectually inferior to those who do.

It's a sad day when people don't understand a simply expression.

(They may not be stupid, but they do have crappy tastes. Don't give me any **** about "juzt cuz der taysts r diff dusnt mein der taysts are bad". Because it does, actually.)

Both AWS and Propagandhi rule.

But basically Propagandhi are better.

The other albums are just much worse than those two.

hey, you're not cory!
11-09-2005, 10:49 PM
Thrice vs. COheed? You're a dick. They're tied for me, I'll just say that now. I voted Coheed though, simply because I prefer them as a band.

But basically Propagandhi are better.

The other albums are just much worse than those two.
Although, under the name A Wilhelm Scream, they have a way better average than Propagandhi. See;

Propagandhi:
How to Clean Everything - 90%
Less Talk, More Rock - 90%
Where Quantity is Job #1 - 65%
Today's Empires, Tomorrows Ashes - 95%
Potemkin City Limits - 75%
Average: 83%

A Wilhelm Scream
Mute Print - 95%
Ruiner - 90%
Average: 92.5%

It's a matter of simple maths really.

Now, if you were to count the Smackin' Isaiah albums in with the aWS ones, the score would drastically change.
