Okay so I have a basic progression that is probably the chorus, dunno at this early stage the chords are (sorry I don't know the technical names)

G5, Dsus2 With an added root in the bass, EmMaj7 and Cadd9 <-- I think thats correct the notes are C E G D

The way the song is played I think it sounds like it resolves to the Cadd9, so I kind of consider that the key (that might be my problem) So I wanted to write a bridge, or verse so I used the relative minor of C and switched keys to Am and used the Chords Am GM and Dm7.

The two when seperate sound great, but when switching from the chorus to the bridge/verse it sounds very disconnected. Am I going about it incorrectly?

There are at least two things you could change.

1) The "EmMaj7" as you call it is not in the key of C, technically. The maj7 of E would equal Eb/D#. How about using just Em7 (E-G-B-D)?

2) For your bridge part, you wrote you used the GM chord. I think this is the chord that makes it sound disconnected. Try using G (G-B-D) instead of Gm. It should help. If this doesn't improve the sound, be more concrete on what sounds disconnected.
